Who We Fund

At REF, we believe in supporting the people and organisations already making a difference.

Our partners are often under-resourced but deeply trusted in their communities.

They understand the local context because they live it. We focus on identifying and walking alongside these organisations, not because we have all the answers, but because we believe in the power of proximity, credibility, and evidence of impact.

Who We Fund

Registered NGOs and nonprofit organisations focused on disability, education, health, or social inclusion.

Community-based organisations working in underserved or rural communities.

Healthcare and rehabilitation providers, including therapy centres and clinics.

We work best with organisations that are:

  • Rooted in community. You are locally based and deeply connected to the families and children you serve
  • Focused on disability inclusion.  Your work centres on children with disabilities, through assistive technology, rehabilitation, inclusive education, or family support.
  • Delivering measurable results. You can demonstrate the outcomes of your work, whether it’s mobility restored, children enrolled in school, or families better supported.
  • Led with integrity and experience. Your leadership reflects your mission, and ideally includes people with lived experience of disability.
  • Aligned with REF’s values.  You resonate with our belief in proximity, collaboration, visibility, scale, and measurable impact.

We do not currently fund individuals, organisations without a disability-specific focus, or groups without a track record of service in the field.

We use an invitation-only model because we take time to build relationships, understand context, and walk alongside our grantees. If your work aligns with our mission and values, and you’d like to introduce your organisation to us, we welcome that connection.
